Three layers, because one of them will fail.
In South African logistics, physical security is not a feature — it is the precondition. PriveCarte assumes any single control can be defeated and builds the service so no single failure reaches the resident.
Layer one · people
Nobody arrives unvetted
Criminal record check, ID and address verification, driver’s licence and PrDP check, reference calls and a re-screen every six months. Vetting status is held in the backend and a lapsed check automatically removes that person from the roster — no manager override.
Layer two · the trip
The route is never a routine
Delivery windows rotate rather than repeat. Vehicles are tracked with driver check-ins at each store and at handover. Vehicles carry no household-identifying livery — the branding lives on uniforms and ID cards, where it builds recognition without advertising a schedule.
Layer three · the gate
The escort arrives first
A contracted armed-response vehicle is dispatched to sync with the delivery. It holds the street while the handover runs, and only stands down once the gate is closed. Both arrival and stand-down are timestamped on the docket.
Secure handover protocol
One minute forty, gate to gate.
The handover is drilled as a fixed sequence. Every person in the pod can recite it, and the resident is briefed on it before the first delivery so nothing on the day is a surprise.
Ten minutes out, the resident is messaged
Name and photo of the shopper who will be at the gate, plus the vehicle. If it isn’t that person, the resident is told not to open.
Response vehicle arrives and holds the street
The escort parks with sightlines on the approach in both directions and confirms position before the delivery vehicle turns in.
Gate opens for a face the resident knows
The shopper carries the bags in. The resident does not come out to the vehicle and does not handle cash at any point.
Bags to the counter, docket signed, gate closed
Cold items are put away if the resident wants the help. The gate is confirmed locked before anyone walks back to the road.
Escort stands down, funder is notified
Timestamped confirmation lands in the funder portal, including the escort’s arrival and stand-down times.
Friction removed
The three exposures this deletes outright.
Not mitigated. Removed, because the trip that creates them no longer happens.

Honest limits
What this does not claim to be.
PriveCarte is not a security company and does not market itself as one. Armed response is contracted from a licensed provider; PriveCarte’s people are unarmed shoppers and drivers. No service can eliminate risk in a residential handover — what this model does is shrink the exposed window to under two minutes, put a known face in it, and place a licensed responder on the street while it happens.
