Why this exists
The graduates left. The parents stayed.
Chatsworth raised a generation of engineers, accountants, doctors and coders, and then watched most of them leave for Gauteng, London, Perth and Toronto. What is left behind is a support vacuum: parents who are sharp, independent and perfectly capable of running their own homes — for whom the physical and security cost of an ordinary Saturday has quietly become unreasonable.
The position
A gap between two working models.
Multi-retailer delivery apps solved aggregation but treat the shopper as interchangeable and stop at the pavement. Phone-based senior concierge services solved the relationship and the billing but never touched multi-store shopping or the gate.
PriveCarte sits in the overlap neither reached: high-touch and high-security, in a market where the second half is not optional.
What we are not claiming
Aggregation is not the innovation
Multi-store single-delivery already exists in South Africa and works. The three things that do not exist together anywhere are: the same vetted team at the same gates every week, the independents that have no digital storefront, and a synchronised escort on the handover. That combination is the business.
Roadmap
How it gets built.
In order, and slowly enough to be good. Nothing scales until the first twenty households have been served for ninety days without incident.
Intelligence collation
Build the Durban specials database across Woolworths, Checkers Hyper, Pick n Pay Hyper and Shoprite, and hand-catalogue the independents — the spice houses, prayer shops, butchers, sweetmeat sellers and produce markets — that have no digital presence at all.
Security integration
Contract a licensed armed-response provider for synchronised delivery escorts and agree the dispatch protocol, response times and stand-down reporting that feed the docket.
Logistics deployment
Recruit, vet and train the first four-person pod for the Chatsworth pilot, with the training weighted toward personalised substitution and handover discipline rather than picking speed.
Launch and scale
Open the funder portal to the South African diaspora in the UK, Australia, Canada and the US, then add pods suburb by suburb — each one only when its cluster reaches viable density.

The pilot is deliberately tight. A pod that criss-crosses Durban is a pod that arrives late and knows nobody.
